 Lake Elsinore, a city in Riverside County has an estimated population in excess of 38,000 people but the city and its surrounding area is estimated at over 55,000.   The lake was once a natural lake but it dried up in the 1930s, was refilled in the 1960s and since then, it has had to be refilled. 

In 2006, the Lake Elsinore Marketplace opened and the city is now served with the likes of their own Costco, Lowes, Staples, and other large stores of this nature.

Lake Elsinore is also home to the Lake Elsinore Storm baseball club.  Not far from Lake Elsinore are other developmnets, some of which are more affluent.  These communities include Canyon Lake, Wildomar, La Laguna Estates and the uniquely named Horsethief Canyon.  Now who wouldn't want to live in a community called Horsethief Canyon?
